Hello, Dear by Aaron Kaufman.
I worked with Aaron again to create some covers for a new ep he has out. We worked fast and furious, e-mailing each other our thoughts on how his album’s cover should look.
I wish I could take credit for the feel of both his ep cover and eventual single cover, but really I just edited and cleaned up Aaron’s original designs. But as they say, good design is in the details. Actually, I don’t know what they say.

The Rise & The Fall by Aaron Kaufman
My parents purchased an iPad. I’m a convert to it now. If I ever travel again, I’m getting one instead of lugging around a laptop computer. Also, you can doodle cool things on it. I doodled this book this morning while drinking coffee and watching TV.
I designed a new music website for Aaron Kaufman at aaronkaufmanmusic.com. Before making it, I had just rewatched the documentary Helvetica, so the font was on my mind.
I really love the cover illustrations of the Harry Potter series of my childhood, the Harper Collins US hard-cover books. Those were designed by Mary GrandPre. Her soft, pastel illustrations captivated my 6th-grade self. But, while I was walking around Amsterdam, I saw a promo poster advertising a new set of paperback HPs with covers illustrated by Erik Kriek and designed by Rob Westendorp.

I’m cleaning up my room in Maastricht getting ready to return to the US soon. I came across my notes when I went to see a retrospective on the work of Shafic Abboud at the Arab World Institute. Here were some of my favorite pictures.
